Ping List for Wordpress Blogs

Here is a comprehensive ping list for Wordpress users. I found it at Warrior Forum, where the experts seem to hang out. I highly recommend you join and make use of this free resource.

Click here to find the list: Ping List

Scroll down that page until you find the list that someone put together based on all the submitted ping lists.

Copy and paste it to Notepad, save it in case something happens to your blog, and then copy and paste it into your blog.

In case you are unfamiliar with where to put it, go to Options, Writing, and at the bottom of that page you will see a box to put your ping list. It will probably have “pingomatic” in there already. Just delete that and put in the Warrior list.

If you are a member of Authority Site Center they have their own ping list that is especially for their special WordPress Master and Pheedpress software. As a member, I use that one.

When starting a new blog it is highly recommended that you have no ping list until your site has a few posts. With this blog I made five or six posts before adding a ping list.

If you wonder why it takes so long for a post to be published, it is caused by the ping list. There is a plugin mentioned on that Warrior Forum link I give above that is called WP-No-Ping-Wait. You might want to give that a try.

Download it and then FTP it to your plugins folder on your site. Then see if it speeds up the publishing process.

If you do not know how to FTP, here are two video tutorials. The first shows you how to download an FTP program and set it up. The second shows you how to FTP Wordpress Plugins to your site.

The second video is using a different version but you should still be able to learn how to FTP things to your site. The first video is using a more current version and looks like the one that I use.
